During the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebrations held at the Kasarani Stadium, KEWOTA made an impressive mark, not only through its strong representation but also by attracting a record number of new members eager to join its transformative movement.
Hundreds of teachers streamed into the KEWOTA tent throughout the day, registering as new members after learning more about the association’s impactful programs. Many were drawn by KEWOTA’s commitment to empowering teachers through initiatives that promote welfare, financial growth, digital literacy, and dignified living.
One of the newly registered members, Anastacia, shared her motivation for joining, saying:
“I’ve been a member of other organizations before, but I never really saw the benefits. What drew me to KEWOTA is that their members who we work with in our staffrooms are always thriving — they teach using laptops, they have access to financial empowerment through table banking, and they’re visibly more motivated. KEWOTA is truly making a difference in teachers’ lives.”
The KEWOTA tent remained abuzz with activity as teachers interacted with the team, learned about digital education programs, welfare initiatives, and support systems such as breastfeeding centres and water tank projects.
This strong show of interest reaffirmed KEWOTA’s growing influence and the trust teachers across Kenya have in its mission to uplift, empower, and dignify the teaching profession.
