TEACHERS ExciteD as KEWOTA’S Mwalimu AI STARTS a Digital Teaching Revolution ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Excitement is spreading fast across the teaching fraternity as the KEWOTA Mwalimu AI Program, powered by KEWOTA in partnership with METIS Amal Labs, continues to help teachers plan lessons, set assessments, and deliver Competency-Based Education with ease and confidence.

Through interactive webinars and high-impact grassroots school visits, teachers across the country are embracing Mwalimu AI as a reliable digital teaching assistant designed for real classroom needs.

Webinar Sessions Empowering Teachers

Teachers recently came together for an engaging refresher session on the Amal platform, bringing both new and returning members into one vibrant learning space. The session focused on practical ways Mwalimu AI supports teachers through:

  • Efficient lesson planning
  • Simplified schemes of work
  • Faster assessment creation
  • Reduced workload and better time management

Webinars Making Assessment Easier

With mid-term examinations approaching, teachers are increasingly turning to Mwalimu AI to simplify exam setting and marking. During a focused webinar, participants learned how to:

  • Create CBE-aligned exams using Amal
  • Generate marking schemes automatically
  • Grade learners in minutes
  • Use the WhatsApp chatbot to generate exams effortlessly

Teachers no longer have to struggle alone when smart tools are available.

Certificates Celebrating Growth and Progress

Teachers who completed the InnovatED Amal Labs Course were celebrated for earning their certificates, a major milestone in professional development. The training has strengthened teachers’ digital skills, boosted confidence in CBE lesson planning, and opened new pathways for innovation in the classroom.

Strong Grassroots Momentum

On the ground, the Mwalimu AI program is gaining impressive momentum across the country.

In Nyakach, outreach activities reached over 80 teachers attending a Sub-County Music and Drama Workshop, generating excitement around both Amal Labs and KEWOTA. Further engagements followed with over 70 staff at Agai High School and more than 90 teachers at Sigoti Girls High School.

Sigoti Girls High School expressed deep appreciation for KEWOTA’s support through water tanks and hand-washing facilities, while requesting further partnership due to increasing student enrollment. The outreach also saw growing interest from male teachers seeking to join KEWOTA, which shows the organisation’s expanding appeal.

More Schools Lined Up

Plans are underway to visit additional schools before half-term, including Rae Girls High School, Ahero Girls High School, Onjiko Boys High School, Nyakach Girls High School, Thur Dibuoro High School, and Nyabondo Boys High School. The response on the ground shows strong readiness and enthusiasm for Mwalimu AI.
