As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and social responsibility, the Kenya Women Teachers Association (KEWOTA) joined national efforts to mark Mazingira Day 2025 through tree planting and community engagement activities in various counties.
In Uasin Gishu County, KEWOTA staff member Stanley participated in a tree planting exercise at Lions Primary School, Eldoret, alongside Madam Clara D’Souza, a teacher at Guloblochab and one of KEWOTA’s esteemed members. The event brought together learners and teachers to promote the spirit of environmental stewardship and sustainable living.
Meanwhile, in Siaya County, Joseph Orido teamed up with Madam Truphena at Bar Kawandu School in Gem-Siaya to commemorate Mazingira Day through a similar tree planting exercise. Their participation not only contributed to greener school environments but also inspired learners to take part in protecting their surroundings.
Following the event, the team joined the retirement celebration of Madam Judith Milanya Nyaim, a long-serving and dedicated teacher at Bar Kawandu School, honoring her years of service to education.
KEWOTA commends its staff and members for their active participation and appreciates the KEWOTA Head Office for facilitating these meaningful environmental initiatives. These efforts reinforce KEWOTA’s broader mission to empower teachers as agents of positive change within their communities and the nation at large.
