FAWE Kenya Chapter is a member of FAWE network of 34 Chapters in 33 countries in sub- Saharan Africa working to achieve equality and equity in education across the continent.
FAWE Kenya Chapter has a mandate to support girls and women to acquire education for development and therefore envisions a society where gender parity and equality in education and training prevail. To be able to accomplish its Mission and Vision, FAWE Kenya, through the FAWE Regional Secretariat, which is a nominating agent of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom (UK), will take part in nominating female students for master’s programs. The successful candidates will sign a bond with FAWE Kenya so that they can give back upon completion of their studies through mentorship, research, and volunteerism for two years.

Field(s) of study:
All subject areas are eligible for consideration, although the CSC’s selection criteria give priority to those applications that demonstrate strong relevance to development. CSC’s 6 Thematic areas are.
- Science and Technology for Development
- Strengthening Health Systems and Capacity
- Promoting Global Prosperity
- Strengthening Global Peace, Security, and Governance
- Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises and
- Access, Inclusion, and Opportunity.
Target Group:
The scholarships are targeted at Developing Commonwealth Countries, but FAWE will concentrate only on the following member countries that are in the FAWE network.
Masters Scholarships
Cameroon, Eswatini, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Uganda, and Zambia only.

In addition to the eligibility requirements outlined in the Commonwealth Scholarship Prospectus, only female candidates will be nominated in Kenya, with priority given to:
- Candidates who are currently or in the past contributed to FAWE’s work, mission, and vision.
- Past FAWE beneficiaries/ FAWE scholarship alumni.
- Candidates who have contributed to the promotion of girls’ education, gender equity, and equality in education in their current or previous engagements.
- Candidates with a first degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics are highly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates who, in their application, show commitment contribute to FAWE’s vision and mission within their communities upon completion of the course.
Please note that the deadline for candidates to submit their applications through the Commonwealth Scholarship Electronic Application System (EAS) is Tuesday, 14 October 2025. Candidates’ nomination. Applications must also reach the FAWE Kenya office on the same day, Tuesday 14 October 2025 (16.00 GMT). All supporting documentation must have been submitted to the online application system by Tuesday, 14 October 2025, at 16:00 (GMT).
Supporting Documents
For an application to be eligible for consideration, all applications together with supporting documents must be submitted online, and hard copies submitted to the FAWE Kenya Office (Gallant Mall, 5th floor, Parklands Road, Opposite Total Petrol Station, Nairobi, Kenya) not later than Tuesday, 14 October 2025 at 16:00 (GMT).
Proof of citizenship or refugee status – uploaded to the online application system.
Full transcripts detailing all your higher education qualifications, including to-date transcripts for any qualifications you are currently studying (with certified translations if not in English) – uploaded to the online application system.
References from at least two individuals –Submitted directly by the referees to the online application system (referees will be sent an email request).
It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that her referees can complete the references
by the deadline and that they receive the reference requests –Master’s Applicants.
The CSC will not accept supporting documentation submitted by nominating agencies or
outside the online application system.

Important Information
- Please note that when applying online, applicants should select FAWE as the nominating Agency. Last year, some applicants did not follow these instructions and therefore could not be considered as FAWE applicants. Please let us know if you need support in any way.
- Deadline for applications is Tuesday, 14 October 2025 at 16:00 (GMT). The CSC will not accept any applications that are not submitted via the Electronic Application System (EAS) to the nominating agency in the candidate’s home country.
- All applications must be made through a nominating agency; CSC does not accept direct applications from candidates.
