KEWOTA Sees Membership Surge Following 6th Anniversary Celebration

The Kenya Women Teachers Association has recorded a significant rise in membership registrations following its recently concluded sixth anniversary celebration at the KICC. According to the KEWOTA Membership and Data Department, the surge reflects growing confidence in the association’s work and an increased awareness of the value members gain upon joining.

The anniversary event highlighted KEWOTA’s progress, impact and future direction, drawing attention to the many benefits available to teachers across the country. These include professional development opportunities, legal support, welfare programs, networking forums and advocacy for better working conditions for women teachers. The renewed visibility of these benefits contributed greatly to the post-event momentum.

A key driver of the increased registrations is the flagship table banking platform offered in partnership with Safaricom. The platform is set to empower women teachers to build financial stability through structured savings, access to revolving credit and collective investment opportunities. Many teachers who attended the anniversary interacted with the team managing the platform and immediately expressed interest in joining the association to take part in the initiative.

The Membership and Data Department noted that inquiries from non-member teachers have also risen sharply, with many citing the anniversary event as a turning point in their decision-making. By showcasing real stories of empowerment and the tangible results of KEWOTA programs, the event reinforced the association’s role as a reliable support system for women teachers nationwide.

KEWOTA leadership has welcomed the increased registrations and affirmed its commitment to ensuring that every new member experiences the full value of belonging to a strong, united and forward-looking community of educators.
